After a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an unidentified artist and built on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, which is dubbed the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with a unknown artist. The unique NFT is a tangible object which connects to a unique digital artwork that is accessible via an QR code on the back. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.
The Space Key is made from a carbon fiber composite material that Lamborghini sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. When it returned to earth the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this unique artwork. The physical element is inscribed with an NFT serial number that ties to the corresponding digital artwork via an QR code on the back.
For those who aren't in the know, NFTs are distinct identification numbers that are stored on a distributed blockchain ledger, and linked to digital assets such as a video, image or any other recording. This allows owners to ensure authenticity and traceability of their tokens on the internet.
Lamborghini takes this unique approach to art a step further by working with NFT PRO, an all-white label NFT solution for business. In the coming weeks Lamborghini will be sharing details about this exciting project, including the name of the unknown artist and a timetable for the auction.

The digital artwork
After several weeks of posts on social media hints at it, the luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Space Key is a collection of five physical items which unlocks an exclusive digital artwork by an unknown artist. It was created in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the 'collector's piece' is limited to only five units and will be auctioned off soon.
The heart of every Space Key is a block of carbon fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth the block was engraved with QR code that links to the digital element in the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Over 600 million pixels make each of the five images which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.
Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera that captured each of the individual images, which were later merged into the final image. The result is an out of this world image that reveals the beauty of the Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic picture of the car rising away from it. key lamborghini The Key Lab are going to be auctioned soon, but there is no specific date or place yet.
The auction
